Employers Using Social Networks to Recruit New Employees

According to a survey of 440 human resources and recruitment professionals by Jobvite, employers are recruiting extensively on social networks, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
You may be able to increase your chances of landing a job by getting a referral from existing employees whom you befriend online.
According to the Jobvite survey, companies are more satisfied with the quality of candidates from employee referrals and social networks. About 80% of companies use or are planning to use social networking to find new employees in 2009.
LinkedIn is used most heavily for recruiting, the survey says, followed by Facebook and Twitter.
